live Review 5 kegs of beer, 5 bands
A night where a party was held in the
outskirts of Dallas, Tx., 5 bands put together a show for a Haloween
party where costumes were welcome.
The lineup was Sulfer, Soloreye,
Daimonion, Shamus McNasty, and 3/4 Ton (Three Quarter Ton).
For a quick overall review, since the
hwole night felt like it lasted 'til 7am; Oh wait, it did!
All 5 of the bands did a great
job. Sulfer started off things witha easy-listening hard rock
sound (contradicting statement?). It woke up the crowd for the
beginning of the night.
Soloreye borrowed the bassist of 3/4
Ton to play the set, as their original bassist took drum duties for the
night. They did good, I thought, as I bobbed my head to some of
their songs and ran around for others.
Daimonion came up on stage with an
intresting twist of costumes... What can one say when there's 2
dancers and 5 guys going crazy on the stage and in the crowd? The
fans were screaming from start to finish!
Shamus McNasty was drfinitely the
softest band there that night, but yet still quite groovy. With
amusing tunes of reggae/funk to an extreme extent, this band had all
the tools to make a crowd want more. The interaction was
crazy as some girls couldn't stay off the stage for 30
seconds. Maybe it was the drunkenness, or the fact Shamus all
dressed up as Doogie Houser. The world will never know.
Unfortunately, I had to leave as 3/4
Ton started, but the crowd looked VERY energized for them to start, so
energized that there was stage rushing in progress before soundcheck
could complete.
To top the night off, 5 kegs of beer,
5 bands, and several entries in the Wet T-Shirt Contest, The
night will not be forgotten. Just one can hope that no one has
Hypothermia!
