Sonia Sanchez is a poet, mother, activist, and professor. Miss  Sonia Sanchez has authored more than 16 books and has been the recipient of many awards in her lifetime. Her show at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters was heart felt, soulful and moving. The music was moving and and had an international flavor.  Sonia Sanchez was joined on stage by the former Fox TV Living Single costar,  T. C. Carson. The night's show consisted of 16 spoken word performances which were played to a packed house of adoring fans.
