Accident Zero @ Division One
March 20, 2004

Finally, a heavy sounding rock band without violent screaming or rap,
Accident Zero is old school. With a unique sound, call them
Metal/Rockabilly, this band plays good old fashioned ROCK! Song after song,
Accident brings pounding drums and driving guitar licks. It was an early
start time on Saturday night, 8:30, and the crowd was a little thin, but the
latecomers didn’t know what they missed, or they would have turned out.

Accident Zero brings huge sound for just a three member band. Steve,
vocals/guitar, Jesus C., bass, and the Donnielama, on drums, shred through
their set and kick butt on every tune. Steve plays guitar as if he is
carrying the weight for two guitarist, and does a quality job of it. Jesus
C. plays the bass like he is fondling a chick, sexy smooth. His style was
right on every time. On some tunes he brought big sound, leading the way and
standing out. While on the next number he faded to the background and let
the song stand on it’s own. Each time it was appropriate to the tune. This
guy knows how to play. The Donnielama, is a stand out drummer. Dude, you
rock. Infectious drumbeats is putting it mildly, the lama will spread a
fever of rhythm through the crowd.

Any band that plays a Misfits cover is all right. With a set full of
originals, they threw in the seldom heard Misfits song “She”. Mid-song some
guy wanders across the front of the band and flashes the metal sign. Right
on, dude! “Ten Foot Tall” was a raucous number that Accident Zero really
came together on. You’ve got to love it when the guitarist rocks the strap
right off his guitar. The Donnielama ruled on “Turn Me On”, “No One Else to
Blame”, “Disguise”, and just about every song they played. Jesus C. brought
his best game during “Numb” (great bass intro), and “Disguise”. “Car Crash
Lover” was the best song on the set list. Steve played a solid guitar intro,
coupled with fast driving riffs and pulsing drums, a nice little jam session
in the middle, a smooth bass line, and the rock vocal stylings of Steve,
this was a bad ass tune.

On the bill at Division One with Accident Zero was Spoonful of Nothing. They
turned out early and supported all the bands. They rocked the stage later in
the night. Look for an upcoming review of this band. In the meantime, check
