Mark Gorman Band play's Bass Hall concert
on
July 17 to rowdy house !
A
home grown Texas boy, Mark Gorman has become an important part of the
ever changing face of the Texas music landscape.
The Mark Gorman Band has brought their
own music stylings to a venue they never imagined that they would find
themselves at. With them were special guest
Philip Vivier from the 99.5 Wolf and the nice folks from
GoodWill IND.
Playing the Bass Hall is a huge step for MGB much more than that first
step up to the stage (even though that does come first). The band took
stage first and began to play before leading man and songwriter Mark,
Dallas Music Award’s 2001
Male Vocalist of the Year,
came out making a triumphant entrance for his 1st Bass Hall debut
!
If you weren't there you definitely missed out. Taking Puddin' (his guitar) in
hand, Mark soon proved why he is also one of the finest
guitarists in the area. And as for his band, they've gone
from a honky tonk country band to a pure
Americana Country R&B group! Influenced by many styles,
they've come up with a sound all there own which you can
here in song's like Todo
El Tiompo and Wind and Ages. Mark
is a prolific song writer and lyricist.
The night
was fun as the band and Mark bantered back and forth and the
crowd
applauded song after song. Mark and the band looked more like
seasoned
vets than newcomers playing hits like Charlotte and the Gambler. It's hits
like these that has
put
Mark as a finalist in the 11th, 12th
and 13th Annual B. W.
Stevenson Songwriter’s Competition held at Poor David's Pub
in
Dallas.
