Briley @ Six Flags
March 18, 2004

The rides fly past and the Rock/Pop sounds of Briley vibrate through the air
at Six Flags over Texas on this particular Thursday. Briley plays two sets
today and I listened to both. They really had warmed up by the second set,
and turned in a much better performance. I like the stage presence of the
band and the fun playfulness they had with the crowd. It’s got to be hard to
play with a handful of people sitting down listening and thousands of people
just walking by. Chris Cox, on drums, even took to the microphone once, and
said “we love you even though you are passing by and not going to stop”.

Comprised of Chris Brockham, on bass and vocals, Chris Cox, on drums, & Jeff
and Donald on guitar, Briley is a nice little band with influences from
Shiner to Jimmy Eat World. They started their set with hard guitars and
pounding drums and a nice mid song scream by the vocalist on “Getaway”. They
followed up with a catchy instrumental number called “Interlude”. Chris B.
turned in a solid effort on this one. The band Rocked full blast during
“Dancer”. The crowd was most enthused when Briley broke into the Jimmy Eat
World cover “Bleed American”. I noticed the crowd singing along and several
passersby stopping to listen.
