Live Review
Deicide, Demonic Domain, Try Redemption, No Souls
Lost. Sunday July 17, 2006 @ Phoenix
Music Complex.
Deicide was scheduled to perform with Try Redemption, No Souls Lost, and Demonic Domain. Some of these bands are locals. The event was put on by LTN Productions. The show was originally scheduled to be hosted at the Ridglea Theater, but when that didn’t pan out, the show got moved to the Phoenix.
Deicide arrived to the venue, after a lot of drama in previous shows, they decided to move on and try to keep on with the tour they were doing to promote their new CD entitled “The Stench of Redemption”.
Deicide arrives only to find out that LTN Productions owner, and Demonic Domain guitarist, Greg Hall, doesn’t have the full amount of the guarantee, and was cut short by $2,900.
Not only did LTN fail to pay Deicide in full, they sabotaged No Souls Lost’s show by unplugging the singer’s mic and forcing him to use a backup, which they altered the EQ on, to make him sound like he was singing through a Drive Thru talkback box. Also, they boycotted the rest of the bands on the bill by informing their fans to arrive at Demonic Domain’s set time, for discounted ticket prices.
When Deicide was handed their reduced guarantee, they decided to cut
their set
down to only 4 songs. During this time, Deicide frontman, Glen Benton
made some
verbal comments towards Greg, who proceeded to call the police.
After Deicide
finished their performance, the band proceeded to find Greg in
the parking lot
of the Phoenix,
and confronted him about the lack of the money, then Glen
proceeded to
KO’ing Greg.
