CD Review
The Reddings - Everyday Life
Two brothers with a big
sound and a big love for the music they make have produced an
outstanding CD. Chris Redding has a very Jim Croce style of
singing. His vocal quality and melody stylings are very
reminiscent of the '70s superstar. You might say the Reddings are
the Croces of country music. Everyday
Life is just that, a deep cut into the heart of middle america's
everyday life. Every song on the CD could be a radio hit,
no problem, but just like with every CD I review, I always seem to find
the favorite tune. On Everyday
Life it's the third cut She Brings Me Down. The mid tempo
love song is written to a very special girl, Chris's new baby
daughter. Everyday Life
is also a song you're going to hear on your radio one day. These
feel good lyrics play to a dark melody and slow driving beat very
skillfully arranged. I could go on talking about every song on
the CD, each in its own right produced, written, and arranged to be a
hit. We all have these kind of CDs in our collections; the ones
you put in and let play from beginning to end and let the music take
you away. An outstanding CD is like a great work of art.
It's a different experience for each individual, and with the Reddings
the experience is not just beer and the women that got away. It
is truly Everyday Life.
Thanks guys for the opportunity to work with you at the Gaylord.
