CD Review Gravity Euphonic
new CD secret
Gravity Euphonica is bringing
electronica back to the DFW with their 4 song CD release of "secret." The
band is Eric Hunter and James French both artists
veterans to the local Dallas music scene. Both are performers
and songwriters, which can be a bad thing for many
times performance artists don't
record well. What I mean is that the power of the performance
many times does not translate to the " tape " as much of the
excitement is often lost without the synergy coming
from the stage. Not so in this case.
With the arrangements simple and songs that are heavy
grove driven (Then on top of all that add catchy tunes that that are
moving and edgy) put it all together and you have one
well done CD.
Gravity Euphonic
is not an industrial band as I would think of
it like some of the bands of the late 80's early 90's in
Deepellum .Their was Course of Empire,11-11, Live Boy Dead Girl ,Primitive Echo
and Big Fear just
to name a few these bands which focused
around the dark and morose side of life . Gravity
Euphonic is setting a different pace .Using some old school
programming with some of today's rhythms.
What Eric Hunter and James
French have come up with for this "football loving, gun
toting, beer drinking, arss'kicking town," is a new and
exciting revival of electronica or industrial pop
music.
