Live Review
Mike Eubanks - Solo Artist.
Saturday, January 28, 2006, Mike Eubanks
made his debut performance at a little coffee shop on the Southeast
side of
Forth Worth, Texas.
His music was done solely with a 12-string acoustic/electric guitar
running
through a Crate amp, and him singing through a second Crate amp.
The turnout
of the event, including the visiting customers and on-lookers, there
were
minimally 12 people in attendance. The songs he performed
ranged from Classic
Rock, Alternative, Modern Rock, and even featured some original
tunes. I
personally enjoyed the whole performance. I even caught myself
singing
alongside him on a couple of the songs he did. Some of my
favorites were Polly
by Nirvana, Black by Pearl Jam, and Every Rose by Poison.
The set list for the night was as follows:
Final Fantasy – Mike Eubanks
Polly – Nirvana
Puttin’ It Down – Beck
Hallows – Led Zeppelin
****ing With My Head – Beck
***hole – Beck
I Hate Women – Led Zeppelin
Ramble On – Led Zeppelin
Soul Kitchen – Mike Eubanks
Breakfast – Deep Blue Something
Mother – Pink Floyd
I’m So Tired – Beatles
Long December – Counting Crows
Freight Train – Mike Eubanks
Disarm – Smashing Pumpkins
Nobody Knows – Pink Floyd
Black – Pearl Jam
Ice Cream – Mike Eubanks
Oh Me – Meat Puppets
Every Rose – Poison
It’s Alright – Bob Dylan
Knockin’ – Bob Dylan
Dumb – Nirvana
Pink Eye – Mike Eubanks
Patience – Guns ‘n’ Roses
I found myself every much enjoying his performance. His vocals were nicely on key with the music. \He showed a lot of potential and confidence as he progressed into the performance. I, personally, thought that he did a very good job, and hopefully this will not be the only show he decides to play. He’s told me he’s always loved those bands and playing guitar. I’m very glad to see him make some progress with his music. He can easily go a long way with what he’s doing. Be assured this will not be the last write-up you will read of this artist. He has a bright future ahead of him.
