Live review Rocky Athas at the Hard Rock Dallas
As the king of Dallas Blues
Rock, Rocky Athas shook the very foundation of the Hard Rock
Cafe. With the room packed, Rocky and Larrry and the boys brought
the screaming mob to a roar when Craig hit the first beat and
Rocky struck a lick! From that moment on Rocky gave what the crowd came
to see, Texas blues Athas style. With a show filled with hits
like Miracle and That Magic, Rocky, Larry, Tommy, Guth, and Craig
pumped out two hours of soul filled Dallas blues. Teasing the
audience with cuts from their upcoming CD scheduled to come out in
February or March one memorable moment was the playing of the title
track
Voo Doo Moon. As the crowd
sat in silence and the music
filled the room, there was almost a mystical feeling as the porcelain
figure of Elvis oversaw the congregation that gathered in his
house. It's always a special time when Rocky Athas plays at the
Hard Rock. Just as a shepherd comes back to flock, the pastor
has come home to the house of rock.
