Seeing Red Tour
Sixth Wind, Temper, Habitual, A Jury of Robots, and Phantom X
Axis Club, Fort Worth, Texas
January 8, 2005

I want to start off by saying that I was very impressed with the club. It was clean, friendly staff,
great stage area, and a decent sound system. The night started off with Sixth Wind, a great local
band thats been around since mid-2002. Its members are Gabe Cunningham on vocals, Troy Hollinger on
drums, Paul Riggs on guitar, and Terry Warren on bass. Terry says they're not in it for the
money or fame they just enjoy rockin together and knowing that people are getting into their music.
With an AC/DC and Black Sabbath influence these guys can wail. This versatile band can give you
great harmony and melody and then turn around and blow you away with guitar-crunching solos and riffs.
I very much enjoyed hearing this band and would like to see them again in the future.
I have been friends with the guys in Temper going back to the day of The Rock and The Underworld. Of
course there have been line up changes since then too. Original members Doug Vines-bass player and Kris
Rogers-guitar have really seen this band through some difficult times. But I am happy to say that with the
addition of rhythm guitarist Cody Hooper, vocalist AZ (formerly of Bullistik), and drummer JB
(also formerly of Bullistik)this band sounds tighter, more solid than I've ever heard them! I loved
hearing old originals like Psychotic Bitch and Back To The Grind with a new freshness and zeal that I'd
not heard before. Much luck to my friends in Temper!
What can you say about Habitual? They freakin rock! This is another band that I've seen back in
the glory days of The Rock and The Underworld and all that has changed this band is a new drummer and bass
player. Brian Dixon-vocalist can wail like nobody's business! They did a Dio cover
Rainbow in the Dark and man I'm telling you he's Johnny Fyg on guitar. WOW! Guitar player extraordinaire.
A crunchy shred to melodic harmonies Johnny is where it's out. Mark Warner on bass and Jeff Cooper on
drums make Habitual a band that I will go see time and time again.
A Jury of Robots! Awesome guys and personal friends of mine I never get tired of hearing what fresh and
new things these guys are coming up with. Sean Hall-vocalist gives awesome performance and loves what he
does. I liken this band to Metallica with attitude! JD on guitar, Thomas Driver on bass, and Mike
(formerly of RivetHead) on drums make this band a force to be reckoned with. Their first album
Subsonic Godlike Devils was very good but look out for the new material. It's gonna blow you away.
Phantom X is made up of Kevin Goocher-vocals (OMEN), Russell Contreras-guitar (TYR), Glenn Malicki-bass
(TYR and Strangers), and Danny White-drums (ASKA) and this is what I'd consider as this area's super
group. This band does Dio covers almost as good as Dio himself! Kevin's raw energy on stage just makes you
want to get to the front and head bang! Russell's guitar solos are so much fun to watch because you know
he loves what he does and it comes across every time on stage. Glenn and Danny work well together and just
make this band sound very tight; definitely a night of head bangin metal music and friends.
