CD Review  Shawn Dodd "State of Mind"
 Shawn Dodd was Born in Austin and then raised in East Texas and this CD shows his roots ,with influences of many  kinds music he grew up around added to his country stylings .Cut 1 "State of mind 'brought up not only the emotion Shawn wanted much more for me good song. Cut3 "She's Cleaning House " is a good example of Shawn's versatility this song has a very strong Waylon Jennings feeling . He  came out of the Opry Circuit, from Grapevine not a bad lenage. He has represented the Fort Worth Songwriter's Association at the "Star Spangled 4th" in Garland, TX as well as other festivals. Shawn regularly performs at the Cowtown Rodeo in the Ft. Worth Stockyards and has competed in the "Colgate Country Showdown", where he was a state finalist in 2003. Since it's release, Shawn's debut album, "State of Mind" has received much praise, including national airplay via the "Lia Show's 15 seconds of Fame", and a 2004 Terry Award nomination for Album of the Year. Currently getting airplay in East Texas, the Hill Country, and Oklahoma, Shawn hopes to continue bringing country music to his fans with his contemporary style and traditional sound. It is his wish to make music that people identify with and that moves them. He is currently writing songs for his next album, and will hit the road in early 2005 to promote "State of Mind".
