Space Insex @ Home Bar
The Home Bar, located at around Dyer
and Greenville in the SMU area (kind of out of the way), at first
appeared to be a dive. I even drove by it and was like, "is that
the place?" It turned out it was- many people might be a little uneasy
about entering a club so off th beaten path. Once inside, I saw the club was not as bad as it
appeared to be. It is actually pretty fun most of the
time. Tonight was no exception. Space Insex, a gothic/industrial band,
was so out of place here. I enjoyed watching all of the various
members of the audience listening with their mouths dropped open at
first, then start dancing to it! It was great! Two key
boards and a mic with the echo on permanently made some incredible
sounds, backed up with projections of funky, psychadelic videos-
people, places, and sometimes just colors- it made for quite the
audio/visual experience. Space Insex was good- with a little more
rhythm to their music, they would have been great. Picture that
scene from the Matrix where all of the people in Xion are raving like
crazy- something like that. I would have taken some pictures, but
there was no stage lighting (blame the bar for that).
