Live Review The Insiders at the Black Finn

I saw The Insiders at the Black Finn Friday Night
Live show. The
parking lot was packed. The Band was ripping it up with an Intro
as
front man and lead singer Robert Sykes steped in with a
"flashbang"
wall of sound and energy leading the crowd into ZEPP'S "Immigrant Song"
forcing an immediate response by whomever was ring side. Next up
Jen
Gaither took the next two songs "I Hate Myself For Loving You" and
"Voices Carry". Way to go Jen! These songs are like night
is to day it takes a
real
singer to pull off these songs much less do it very well . Not
only the tone but
nuaunces as well . Jennifer and Robert shared the stage all night
taking turns pulling of hits like "Since You've Been Gone", "White
Rabbit", "Somebody To Love", "Me and Bobby McGee", and six voices rang
out "We're An American Band" which was a show stopper! In the
middle of the first set, the band pulled off one of the few live local
performances I've heard of "Dark Side of the Moon". It was
awesome! "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon."
With two
dynamic lead vocalists in Robert Sykes and Jen Gaither, The
Insiders are loaded with industry professionals and veterans of music
scenes from Austin to LA. The versatility of The Insiders means that
each performance features a wide range of material for everyone, and
this band is as much fun to watch as they are to hear.
The Insiders
were launched on the Dallas scene in 2007,
and since then they have established themselves as one of DFW's premier
cover bands. The Insiders play anything - and everything - from
the 60s
to the 90s, and all points in between. As the saying goes, The Insiders
play what they like, and like what they play.
