Live Review
The Readings at the Gaylord Texan Resort
I recently had the honor to work with two very talented young men, erickChris and Eric Reading,of the band The Readings, a four piece from Nashville at a reception for the Biolage Road Show Tour for Matrix.  Playing with all accoustic instruments, the Readings gave a very entertaining evening of current pop and country hits and some great old time pop standards along with some of the their own tunes.   The guests were entertained with some of the Readings own versions of hits such as "Amie", "Wave on Wave", "Won't Back Down" with the perfect Tom Petty inflection,"Running to Stand Still" then, much to my suprise, a song off their on CD dedicated to the sound man, me, "She Brings Me Down".  Even though Chris and I live in different states, we were able to connect through this song about the innocence of our daughters bringing us back down to Earth when life gets hectic.  red305With the band's harmonies and intricate guitar work, the banquet room rang of ballads rock to roll by making for a perfect evening.  Freshly out of the studio the Readings are currently touring their newest release Everyday Life.  Some of their upcoming dates are April 14th in Nashville and April 17th in Chicago.  For more info check out http://www.thereadings.net.
