I lucked into seeing a great band Friday night at the 6th Street Grill.  At an eclectic bar like 6th Street you never know what your going to get until you get there, but Cort Cantrell was fantastic!  There are not too many bands out there that can have a house of about fifteen rockin' in their seats (and some out of there seats), but this band was so full of energy, they did just that.  Playing mostly classic and recent covers from rock to country as well as a few originals, they had people dancing all night long.  It was a blast!  Cort may have a sweet and sexy girl next door look, but she shocked everyone with the power and emotion of her vocals.  She was backed by an equally talented bandband with Jim McKay on guitar, Mick Ellis on bass, and Steve Babcock on drums.  When they tried to quit early I don't know how much they got paid by audience members, but I know I saw some $20s come out, so they appeased us all by playing a third set where that actually repeated a few songs at the request of a screaming crowd.  I don't think anyone left the bar early that night.  We were all having too much fun with a small crowd and an awesome band!  Check out future show dates at www.cortcantrell.com.
