CD Review
The Alexander A City in Ruins
The Alexander's CD A
City in Ruins has a great alt rock sound. The band is tight
and
the lyrics are scarce but powerful. One song has only 21 words,
but
it's a great song. It takes great music and powerful lyrics to be
able to do that. Occasionally the instrumentals got a bit
lengthy.
After an instrumental goes on for about a minute people start to get
bored
with it, and it's time to either end the song or start a new
verse.
I loved I Have Seen the Promise Land where they set a Martin Luther
King,
Jr. speech to music. I thought it was unique and clever.
Thalessa
was gorgeous but one of the examples of a song that could have gone
ahead
and ended sooner without loosing a thing. It still would have
been
a great song. All in all this one is worth checking out.
