Live review TYR
O’Riley’s-Dallas, Texas
January 2005
TYR is the Norse god of war and they are back with a vengeance!
Having seen
personnel changes and growing as a band these guys are ready to
rock. With
new front man, Landon Uys (formerly of Gashly Crumb) leading the charge
TYR
is bringing their brand of metal back to the fans. Founder of TYR
and guitarist,
Russell Contreras, settles for nothing than the best because he knows
that
is what the fans expect and that’s what he expects as a musician.
Other
members include Rick Fulton on keyboards, Rick Garza on bass, and Chuck
Encinias
on drums. Friday night’s performance was the first gig for Landon
and only
having a few practices under his belt it was amazing the show that
these
guys put on. They had the crowd on the dance floor and wanting
more with
the end of each song. With high reaching vocals, Landon was
phenomenal!
He was doing TYR originals like Play The Game and Illusion and then
doing
cover tunes like Flight of Icarus by Iron Maiden and Highway Star by
Deep
Purple. This is an amazing comeback for this band and I’m very
excited to
see what else they have in store for us. Don’t miss the next
show…you won’t
be disappointed!
